These must be pre-booked by contacting the Histopathology Department (ext. 2930) at least 24 hours in advance.
Please note:
Specimens should be sent immediately without fixative to the laboratory and handed personally to a member of the histology department. They must not be left at specimen reception.
A contact bleep number or telephone number must be written on the request form.
Specimens suspected or known to have Covid-19, TB, monkeypox or nvCJD will not be accepted for this procedure.
Specimens suspected or known to have Hepatitis B or C, HIV/AIDS will be assessed on an individual basis by the Clinical head of department.
Radioactive specimens will not be accepted for frozen sections.
