Exeter Clinical Laboratory offers a first class service to more than 300 GP practices, Independent healthcare providers and community hospitals.

We provide tertiary referral services to Trusts and healthcare providers in the UK and Worldwide across the pathology disciplines, daily generating >50,000 results.

Our website contains a wealth of useful information about the laboratories and the tests provided.


All pathology staff working in the Exeter Laboratory at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital NHS Trust are bound by a legal duty of confidence to protect personal information they may come into contact with during the course of their work. The staff adhere to their responsibilities for safeguarding confidentiality and preserving information security.

The pathology department complies with the NHS England Confidentiality Policy (version 5, 2019), the Data Protection Act 1998, the NHS Care Record Guarantee and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).


Pathology management is committed to impartiality and does not allow commercial, financial or other pressures to compromise this.
