Use CMV IgM test for diagnosis acute infections.
Use CMV IgG test for immune status. Do not repeat within 1 week.
NB : These tests may give false negative results on severely immunocompromised patients, and CMV IgM is relatively non-specific so requires confirmation.

Requests must indicate if a specimen is high risk. Please indicate details of the risk e.g. TB, MPox, Viral Haemorrhagic Fever.
