Microbiology consults made via Epic or emails via Microconsultants will be answered from 0900-1630 Monday-Friday. Consults made outside of these times will not receive a same day response.
Microbiology consults should contain the following information:
For Outpatient queries, the Emergency Department or for clinically unwell patients requiring urgent advice contact the microbiology department on 2962 between 0900-1630

The duty Biomedical Scientist can be contacted for the processing of urgent specimens outside of routine working hours via the hospital switchboard on (01392 411611 for RD&E, 01271 322577 for NDDH).
