Training

Training can be defined as bringing a person up to an acceptable level of proficiency by using instruction and supervised practical experience. Once this level of proficiency has been met the individual is deemed to be trained, and suitable to carry out his/her tasks without close supervision.

The POCT Policy states that “Only trained, certified and competent staff should use POCT equipment”.

There are many different ways in which training is carried out at the RD&E:

  • Link Nurse cascade training.
  • Face to face training from the laboratory staff.
  • Training from the education specialist from the manufacturer.
  • e-learning For further details, training information and copies of key documents contact us.
